Synthesis, SAR and pharmacological characterization of novel anthraquinone cation compounds as potential anticancer agents

Fifteen new emodin derivatives were synthesized and investigated for their anticancer activities. Compound 4a was shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells in vitro.
