The state of Art on the promotion, policy and technology for urban EV in Korea

The Republic of Korea has achieved the 4th finished car production in the world by beating Germany. It is a leading automobile nation with its own efforts and expertise for advanced automobile development. Korea made the commitment from COP21 to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 37% occurring in the industry, generation and transportation under the BAU standard until 2030. Among them, 34% which is contained in the transportation sector is reduced by using electric vehicles and bio-fuels. Supply of electric vehicle play important roles for achieving the plan important. So as to do, an aggressive action is tried by Korea government. This study introduces the current state of R&D for electric bus, electric bicycle and electric truck in Korea and the road map for Korea's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas. Also, the work which is Carbon Free island project in Je-ju is introduced.
