Thinking of a career change? Or an 'innocent' moves from pharmaceutical research to the Big Ten

What are the challenges and rewards of a career transition from a role as chemical safety professional at a large pharmaceutical research facility to a position responsible for the oversight of chemical safety and campus hazardous waste disposal at a large public university? This article details observations and thoughts about the process and the first year in my new role; a journey from “innocence” to a more realistic perspective on academic laboratory chemical safety and hazardous waste disposal.
