Experimental research on inhibition performances of the sand-suspended colloid for coal spontaneous combustion

► A kind of new compound material of sand-suspended colloid was developed. ► The colloid is composed of mineral inorganic gel and organic polymer. ► The inhibition performance experiments of the colloid were carried out. ► It affected the oxidation characteristics during the acceleration oxidation of coal. ► The sand-suspended colloid finally inhibited the coal spontaneous combustion.
