Spatial distribution of polygalacturonase-inhibiting proteins in Arabidopsis and their expression induced by Stemphylium solani infection

► The distribution of AtPGIPs was firstly reported. ► AtPGIP1 and AtPGIP2 were both up-regulated in response to infection with S. solani. ► The bulk AtPGIPs showed a higher activity in leaves infected by S. solani. ► This highlights the importance of AtPGIPs in disease resistance.
