Coagulation and survival in Drosophila melanogaster fondue mutants

► The MB11923 Minos insertion produces a strong hypomorphic allele of fondue. ► New fon null alleles were isolated and characterized for coagulation and survival. ► Lethality of fon mutations can be rescued by expression of the UAS::fonGFP construct. ► Loss of fon affects coagulation but not wound survival in larvae.
