Changes in breathing pattern and thoracoabdominal motion after bariatric surgery: A longitudinal study

► We evaluate breathing pattern in 30 obese patients before and after bariatric surgery and in 30 age-matched controls. ► Measurements were performed using calibrated respiratory inductive plethysmography. ► Breathing pattern variables were similar in obese group and in control group after surgery.
