Interactions of phenothiazine drugs with bile salts: Micellization and binding studies

► Drug-bile salt interactions were explored by micellization and spectroscopic studies. ► Mixed micelles formed at lower cmc values, thus enhancing the bioavailability of drugs. ► Synergistic interactions have been observed for all drug-bile salt systems. ► Stoichiometric ratio of these complexes estimated to be 1:2 from spectroscopic studies. ► The binding constants for drug-bile salt complexes have been determined.
