Efficient synthesis and sulfonation of ordered mesoporous carbon materials

► An efficient method for the synthesis of ordered mesoporous carbon material was proposed. ► The mesostructural properties of OMC mainly depend on the acid concentration and the mass ratio resol/F127. ► The correct combination of the sulfonation temperature and the pyrolysis temperature is essential for the sulfonation of OMC.
