Direct deposition of size-tunable Au nanoparticles on silicon oxide nanowires

Silicon oxide nanowires (SiOXNWs) was decorated with 3- to 6-nm-sized Au nanoparticles by direct deposition of Au on the nanowire surface without any surface pretreatment.
