Slurry erosive wear behaviour of thermally sprayed Inconel-718 coatings by APS process

► Inconel-718 coatings were developed on mild steel substrate by Air plasma spray technique. ► Slurry erosive wear behavior of the developed coatings have been assessed. ► Inconel 718 coating has drastically improved the slurry erosive wear resistance of mild steel. ► Formation of stable oxides of chromium and iron are mainly responsible for superior slurry erosive wear resistance of the developed coatings.
