Friction and wear testing for a down-hole oil well centraliser

Results showed that there was considerable differences in the friction and wear between the dry, water based mud and oil based mud contact conditions. The surface coating showed great potential for improving friction, but performed less well in the wear tests, mainly due to a high surface roughness.
