Enhancements of wear-resistance of Ti by unidirectional, discontinuous rubbing

Metals tend to oxidize in the process of rubbing and become ceramics. Ceramics are usually highly wear-resistant than metals. This paper presents the enhancement of wear-resistance of titanium by oxidized debris adhered on the discontinuously rubbed surface.
