Combined effect of global warming and increased CO2-concentration on vegetation growth in water-limited conditions

► We have developed a vegetation sensitivity approximation, VSA. ► It can be used to estimate the climate impact on vegetation productivity. ► It describes the combined effect of changed temperature, CO2 and precipitation. ► It is based on the physical laws of gas flux through the stomatal openings. ► The VSA is compared with the dynamic vegetation model LPJ, with good agreement.
