Isolation and characterization of new plant growth-promoting bacterial endophytes

► We isolated 174 new bacterial endophytes from soils from five different countries. ► When the 174 endophytic strains were tested for ACC deaminase activity, 25 were found to be positive. ► The 25 were tested for IAA synthesis, siderophores, phosphate solubilization, and growth in salt. ► Most strains had PGPB activity and promoted canola growth, making them candidates for field use.
