Revisiting the ontogenetic shift paradigm: The case of juvenile green turtles in the SW Atlantic

► Green turtle is known to be strictly neritic and herbivore after the ontogenetic shift. ► Highly used areas of immature turtles from the SW Atlantic is studied. ► Turtles fed in neritic and oceanic areas that lack from an herviborous diet offer. ► Turtles did not comply with the tenets of an abrupt and irreversible shift. ► Turtles were able to adapt their behavior to local environmental conditions.
