Invasive quagga mussels can be attenuated by redear sunfish (Lepomis microlophus) in the Southwestern United States

► We demonstrate that redear sunfish can remove adult quagga mussels efficiently. ► Redear sunfish can suppress the growth and recruitment of invasive mussels. ► Redear sunfish can be used as a biological control fish species on quagga mussels. ► Targeted stocking of redear sunfish can be an efficient approach to mitigate mussels.
