Laboratory evaluation of Gryon pennsylvanicum (Ashmead) (Hymenoptera, Platygastridae) as a biological control agent of Leptoglossus occidentalis Heidemann (Heteroptera, Coreidae)

► Leptoglossus occidentalis is an invasive conifer seed-feeder in Italy. ► Life history traits of the parasitoid Gryon pennsylvanicum were tested in the lab. ► G. pennsylvanicum has high reproduction and long-lived adults. ► Reproductive potential is maintained even in the absence of the host. ► G. pennsylvanicum is a good candidate for classical biological control.
