► The action of the nematodes resulted in a significant reduction of all parameters. ► The efficacy of treatment in all groups was above 97%. ► Heterorhabditis indica LPP1 is the one of most virulent species for females of Rhipicephalus microplus. ► H. indica LPP1 is a promising agent for biological control of R. microplus.
