► This study is concerned with the design and management ofaquacultural systems. ► A practical, solvable, 6-σ robust optimization were developed, validated, and implemented. ► 3 Growth phases with: 1, 8, and 24 culture tanks, arrival frequency of every 30 days. ► The proposed optimal layout can accommodate uncertainty and different fish species. ► Numerical values reflect local conditions; the methodology can be applied elsewhere.
