Kinetics of nitrogen compounds in a commercial marine Recirculating Aquaculture System

► The evolution of nitrogen compounds in a commercial marine RAS has been experimentally assessed. ► Oxidation rate of ammonia within the trickle biofilter has been determined. ► ½-order/0-order kinetic expression and parameters describe satisfactorily nitrification kinetics. ► Nitrite did not undergo significant changes between the inlet and outlet of the biofilter.
