Analysis of pellet degradation of extruded high energy fish feeds with different physical qualities in a pneumatic feeding system

▶ We analyse pellet breakage of three commercial salmon feeds during pneumatic conveying. ▶ Pellet breakage depends on feed type. ▶ Pellet breakage is highest at high air speed and low feeding rate in the conveying system. ▶ Commonly used measurements for physical feed quality do not predict pellet breakage during conveying.
