Action of a turbulent flow on a hard compliant coating

► We study hard compliant coatings, which can be used in practice. ► Deformation and velocity of surface moving under turbulent flow were calculated. ► Velocity of surface motion is comparable to velocity pulsations near the wall. ► This can be the reason for drag reduction on a compliant coating. ► Absorbed by coating energy is negligible part of energy, dissipated within the flow.
