Assembly engineering: Materials design for the 21st century (2013 P.V. Danckwerts lecture)

We introduce the emerging discipline of Assembly Engineering and its role in the design and synthesis of new materials for next generation applications. We especially highlight the role of computer simulation in discovering the fundamental principles of assembly science and providing critical design tools for assembly engineering.
