Towards an odour control system combining slurry sorption and electrochemical regeneration

► Adsorption and electrochemical regeneration were combined in a gas treatment unit. ► A current density of 4 mA cm−2 removed 69% of 100 ppmv ethanethiol gas over time. ► 2.5-9% removal was attributed to adsorption, the rest to reaction with chlorine. ► The removed sulfur was shown to persist in the aqueous phase.
