The porous structure and acidity of the ZSM-5 zeolites were tailored via alkali and acid treatment, the catalytic benzene methanol alkylation performance was improved (benzene conversion, selectivity of toluene and xylene) and the stability of ZSM-5 zeolites was enhanced at the same time.115
