Charge transfer NIR dyes for improved photoacoustic effect

A new class of NIR absorbing dyes accessed by a cycloaddition-cycloreversion reaction of alkynes with tetrafluoro-TCNQ is reported. Studies on the photoacoustic effect of the series of NIR dyes revealed a molar extinction coefficiency which contributed to the displayed photoacoustic effect.214
