Diphenylaminocarbazoles by 1,8-functionalization of carbazole: Materials and application to phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes

A series of novel 1-, 8-diphenylaminocarbazoles have been synthesized and characterized. Structure-property relationships of the series of three new compounds have been thoroughly investigated. Green PhOLEDs were fabricated and characterized by solution processing using these materials as hosts based upon their high enough triplet energy levels along with good solubility in organic solvents.
