DNS of vertical plane channel flow with finite-size particles: Voronoi analysis, acceleration statistics and particle-conditioned averaging

► Large number of freely-mobile, finite-size particles is simulated by means of fully-resolved DNS. ► An analysis based upon Voronoi tessellation is performed. ► Acceleration statistics are investigated. ► Particle-conditioned averaging of the flow field in the vicinity of the particles is carried out.
