The electrohydrodynamics of superimposed fluids subjected to a nonuniform transverse electric field

► The EHD of a liquid bilayer subjected to a sinusoidal electric field is studied. ► Degree of interface deformation scales with the square of potential nonuniformity. ► Wavenumber of interface deformation is twice that of potential nonuniformity. ► For certain range of parameters the interface does not deform. ► The effect of separation distance between the electrodes is studied.
