Image analysis measurements of particle coefficient of restitution for coal gasification applications

High resolution video image analysis was used to extract the coefficient of restitution from a variety of particles, velocities, substrates, and angles for application in CFD modeling of coal gasifiers. Particle shape and rotation were key parameters affecting the behavior of particles rebounding.
