Characterization and growth modeling of ash deposits in coal fired boilers

In this work an ash deposit model was developed based on surface growing theory. The predicted characteristics are compared to physical and chemical characteristics of a typical ash deposit. The proposed model led to good agreement when compared to macro quantities such as porosity and fractal dimension.
