Numerical modeling of fluid and particle behaviors in impact pulverizer

► Numerical modeling of fluid flow and particle motion in impact pulverizer was simulated. ► Particles are mainly accelerated by fluid drag force but not by impact with rotating hammer. ► Particles impact with stator walls at velocity higher than tip speed of hammer. ► Frequency and velocity of the particle impact is lower when particle size is smaller.
