Numerical study of the flow field and separation efficiency of a divergent cyclone

► The gas flow and particle movement in a divergent cyclone were studied. ► The inverted conical cyclone body can reduce the short-circuiting flow. ► The reflecting screen can prevent the backflow from taking away the particles. ► The suggesting operating gas inlet velocity range is from 14 m/s to 18 m/s.
