Mechanochemical synthesis of nano TiC powder by mechanical milling of titanium and graphite powders

► TiC powder was synthesized during milling by mechanochemical mechanism. ► With increasing milling time, the mean size of TiC particles was decreased toward nanoscale. ► XRD combined Rietveld refinement analysis confirmed obtaining nanostructured product. ► ICP analysis confirmed the introduction of Fe impurity in product by increasing milling time.
