Simulation of dynamic processes on flexible filamentous particles in the transverse section of a rotary dryer and its comparison with ideo-imaging experiments

► A dynamic model of flexible filamentous particles were established. ► Bulk movements of particles in the transverse section of a flighted rotary dryer were investigated. ► A visible simulator of rotary system has been set up to verify the computational scheme. ► The simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental findings by video-imaging.
