On the importance of the location of PCMs in building walls for enhanced thermal performance

► The thermal performance of building walls with and without PCM was evaluated. ► The optimal experimental location of the PCM in a typical residential wall was found. ► The peak heat flux of walls enhanced with PCMs could be reduced by more than 40%.
