Direct conversion of liquid natural gas (LNG) to syngas and ethylene using non-equilibrium pulsed discharge

► The liquefaction of natural gas increased tremendously the collision frequency between electrons and methane molecules. ► Large amounts of ethylene and syngas were formed using pulse discharge under the temperature of liquid nitrogen. ► The low temperature of LNG and the cage effect suppressed the formation of CO2.
