Hydrogen and synthesis gas production from activated carbon and steam via reusing carbon dioxide

► A novel method of producing hydrogen and syngas is conducted. ► The reaction combines solution loss reaction and steam gasification reaction. ► Activated carbon is employed and CO2 is reused. ► Reaction temperature and steam/CO2 molar ratio are taken into account. ► Porous structure of activated carbon has a significant effect on syngas formation.
