Thermal comfort in forested urban canyons of low building density. An assessment for the city of Mendoza, Argentina

► We evaluate the thermal comfort in urban canyons forested with typical tree species. ► We assess the energy behaviors of diverse mixtures of width road and green structures. ► Road channels forested with Platanus acerifolia present the best thermal conditions. ► Mendoza city displays a thermal discomfort that reaches the 62% of time evaluated. ► We need conciliate the comfort conditions with the nocturnal cooling of the city.
