Dean instability of Giesekus fluids in azimuthal flow between two fixed, infinitely-long, concentric cylinders at arbitrary gap spacings

► We investigate Dean instability of Giesekus fluids at arbitrary gap spacings. ► A fluid's elasticity can stabilize or destabilize Dean flow depending on the mobility factor. ► Dean flow becomes progressively more stable by an increase in the gap size.
