Numerical simulations of granular free-surface flows using smoothed particle hydrodynamics

► We present simulations of dense granular flows using SPH method. ► Validation test cases in steady and unsteady configurations are shown. ► Excellent agreement with analytical predictions and experimental results is found. ► Behaviours very specific to granular materials are captured. ► Influence of several numerical parameters is discussed.
