Open-pore LiFePO4/C microspheres with high volumetric energy density for lithium ion batteries

- LiFePO4/C microspheres were prepared using a mixture of glucose and citric acid as carbon source.
- The prepared microspheres had rough surface and open pore structure.
- The LiFePO4/C microspheres rendered higher volumetric energy density and rate performance to LIBs.
