ZnO/CdS nanocomposites: Synthesis, structure and morphology

► ZnO/CdS nanocomposites were synthesized by a chemical method using a water-ethanol matrix. ► Characterization results showed that CdS nanoparticles with a mean size of 4 nm were grown on ZnO nanowires. ► Luminescence measurements of ZnO/CdS nanocomposites showed narrow and enhanced blue emission.
