This paper studies the effect of shooting and associated local blast induced gust on nonlinear aeroelastic stability and behaviour of a high-aspect ratio wing. The physics of shooting is modeled as a local impulse force and moment, mass release of the bullet and local blast-induced gust. The computer code NATASHA (Nonlinear Aeroelastic Trim and Stability of HALE Aircrafts) which incorporates the geometrically exact, fully intrinsic, composite beam formulation of Hodges combined with Peters aerodynamic model are used in order to simulate the problem. The effect of gun placement along the wing axis with different offset values is studied and flutter characteristics of each configurations are obtained. Frequency domain and nonlinear time domain analyses are conducted and it has been found that proper gun placement along the wing could reduce the undesirable effects of gust and impulse due to the shooting.
