Evaluation of intercropped switchgrass establishment under a range of experimental site preparation treatments in a forested setting on the Lower Coastal Plain of North Carolina, U.S.A.

► We evaluated establishment of pure and intercropped switchgrass. ► We measured percent cover, height, density, leaf area index and biomass. ► Pure switchgrass plots were taller than intercropped plots. ► Switchgrass biomass did not differ with treatment. ► Switchgrass growth was not affected by pine trees.
