Web crippling of aluminium tubular structural members strengthened by CFRP

► Strengthening of aluminium tubular structural members using CFRP. ► 48 web crippling tests under four loading conditions were tested. ► Web slenderness effect of aluminium tubular sections on CFRP strengthening was investigated. ► Strengthening is more pronounced for sections with large value of web slenderness. ► The web crippling strengths significantly increased due to CFRP strengthening.
