A comparative study on fatigue behaviour of steel beams retrofitted with welding, pultruded CFRP plates and wet layup CFRP sheets

► We study the fatigue behaviour of steel beams repaired with CFRP plate or CFRP sheets. ► One layer of CFRP plate can extend the fatigue life of steel beams about 7 times. ► Four layers of CFRP woven sheets can extend the fatigue life of beams about 3 times. ► CFRP plates show better performance in resisting crack propagation than CFRP sheets.
