Efficient assessments of urban tree planting potential within or near the southern Piedmont region of the United States

► Analyzed 15 cities in the southern United States. ► Developed an efficient process for estimating plantable areas within cities. ► Used multiple sources of remote sensing data for analysis. ► Estimated approximately 438,500 ha of potentially plantable land in the study area.
