4DPlates: On the fly visualization of multilayer geoscientific datasets in a plate tectonic environment

► 4DPlates is a Google EarthTM-like application aware of plate tectonics. ► 4DPlates allows interactive plate reconstructions and grid-calculations. ► GPU-calculations and 4-8 multi-layer tile hierarchy are the main technologies driving 4DPlates. ► Tectonic subsidence calculations with basin data and a reconstruction of the South Atlantic are shown.
